Default 2000 Disco II Noise when accelerate

I have a 2000 Disco II, when I decelerate while cruising at speed and then step back on the gas there is a noise. It does not happen while driving slow; only seems to happen over 50 MPH. I have checked the universal joints and drive shafts, everything appears to be good and tight. It only happens while at speed and I can not replicate it while its jacked up. It sounds like its coming from the transfer case, but I'm unsure because I can only hear it while I'm driving the vehicle.

Any one have the same problem or know what is causing this?

Thanks,
haRley C.

Are you talking about a clunking sound, if so it is normal. How long has it been since you changed the t/case oil? Might want to switch to 85W/140 it will help keep the t/case noise down.
