2000 Disco II Rebuild
Ok, I finally afforded the parts so I can put this rover together.
Couple of questions....
....I downloaded the RAVE manual from land rover service factory manual RAVE download land rover resource, service manual, workshop factory manual, download, rave, vehicles including discovery, series, defender, range rover, freelander, LR3, Handbooks, Catalog, Catalogue, Land Rover Inte but I do not understand fully how you turn it into a operable program. I do know you burn an image file (.iso) to a cd, then the cd will operate as an executable. The 590MB large file I downloaded has no such .iso.
Also since I am refreshing this engine, should I just use fine valve lapping compound to clean up the valve seating surfaces? Or should I do the coarse/fine combination?!?!?
Thanks for any input.

I suggest if you in for the rebuild doing a valve job (should include v/s seals make sure you put all metal posies) resurface of the heads. Check your cam bearing as well as rod and mains. And cam lobes for wear as I seen is common for them to wear out.
I bought new rod bearings and piston rings, the cam bearings and cam lobes look like new, the main bearings were a little discolored but measured .oo15 so they should be fine. Also a new timing chain. The heads have been resurfaced already as well as both banks on the block itself. I have all the seals for the entire engine.
below are a couple of other links, from the second one you can download just the individual manuals desired in PDF form. You'll want the overhaul manual as well.
I don't use the Rover Automated Viewing Environment (RAVE, also stands for Rovers A'int Very Economical) as a complete program, I just used Adobe to open the individual manuals. Anyone that can rework a zero turn transmission will have no trouble with a Rover....
