Default 4 days in to Rover experience and superlocked!!!

Colleagues,

please bear with me- 4 days into my Rover experience and I have screwed the pooch. Purchased 1999 disco II a few days ago and I believe I mistakenly superlocked it with the key when trying to lock it in town today. When I returned to the truck the driver door lock would not budge in any direction. I tried both keys that came with the truck, one was presumably an original key with no functioning fob the other a spare. I left the window cracked and the first AAA guy was able to hit the unlock button allowing entry to the car. All locks work when using the central button. Of course the alarm/horn was going off — I pulled the fuse for the horn and rather than try to figure this out in the rain— we towed it home. My predicament: truck is superlocked, driver door lock will not move in any direction (in the last few days I did use the key to lock the truck 2-3 times without problems). I have full access to the interior and non functioning 20 yr old key fob. All electrics are functioning but engine will not start

I’ve read as many postings as I can on this site and am still not clear with next steps, ? Access door lock and try to fix that mechanism to allow for key to unlock door and reset using Generic code, 2) try to “short” the superlock mechanism 3) tow to local rover shop, where I just purchased the truck, and throw myself at their mercy?

thanks for any help,

joe

it's my understanding that in superlock mode the doors cannot be unlocked using the unlock button on the console, so -- since you were able to unlock the doors using that button -- you are not superlocked at all and may have started chasing down a wrong path.
instead i would suspect that there's something amiss with the linkages inside the driver's door.

That’s encouraging, I think. My plan is to dive into the door lock today. Thanks for the insight.
