Default '95 Discovery starter issue

Would appreciate any insight the forum might offer for the following:
Three days ago, upon ignition got just "click" and no start. Battery tested strong (it's 4 months old). Ran a direct connection from battery to starter which spun but failed to engage. Replaced starter (and solenoid). Vehicle cranked right up. Drove 140 miles with intermittent stops and starts - no problems. Went to start vehicle today (4th day with new starter) and again, just "click" and no start. The new starter installed has a lifetime warranty but need to know if there's a bigger issue I'm not aware of. Thanks again for any helpful advice.

Check for corrosion on the battery cables, it is common for them to corrode because of age and this can cause a no start issue.
If they are to corroded look into replacing them, Antichrist sells a nice kit, he is a forum member.

Default re battery cables

battery and cables are in good shape, clean, tight, charged, etc. As said, new starter worked upon installation...won't work 2 days later...Any possibility there's a fuse being blown, or some sensor associated with ignition? Don't want to approach repair until I have a fairly good idea of problem source. Best case is DIY for me.

Thinking it may be a flukey ignition switch

So you're saying there's no power to the small wire going to the starter solenoid?
