Default brake rotor replacement

I am trying to find out any thing I can on what tools I need to replace my rotor, 1996 Disco. There is a large hex nut on the spline and I cant find the right size socket?

If you mean the front wheel bearing / hub locknut and retaining nut - they're 52mm. Best to use a box spanner rather than a socket - the inner one isn't torqued up and you'll have difficulty finding a socket deep enough to get to it over the spline. Only the locknut needs to be torqued up - I've never bothered with the ones on my Defender - tight enough is accurate enough. Make sure you use a new locking washer, if that fails you can wreck the bearing and hub in short order.

Cheers,
