RE: Brakes/Rotors/Sensors
I too am starting a rear brake job. I had a squealing noise when driving that went away when the brakes were applied. I have done a bunch of brake jobs but mainly Fords and Jeeps. I pulled the wheels and the calipers off (so far almost twins to the Ford Explorer and Grand Cherokee. I couldn't figure how the rotors were retained. By the way I have a 2000 Discovery II. In the last post I noticed it says that there's a #4 screw. If I remove this screw will this let the rotor come off? (Only one screw?) Also is there somewhere that I can get technical manuals or at least a blow up drawing of what I'm working on?
Thanks,
DonB

RE: Brakes/Rotors/Sensors
Pull the #4 phillips and the rotor will come off his the hit from a hammer.
As for the manual, you can down load rave CD's for free on line or buy them on E-Bay for about $10.
Don't forget to use some sound deadening material on the backs of the brake pads and flush all the old brake fluid out.
