Default Cam Sensor leaking like a sieve

The cam sensor on the timing cover has been a constant leak no matter how many times I replace the o ring. I couldn't find much about my problem from searching, so am I one of the few with this issue? Anyone know if a replacement will fix it? Or am I better off putting some right stuff around it and hoping it holds? What about tapping another screw hole and putting a solid plate across to hold it in better? Thoughts?

While still researching I ran across this picture to which it shows a metal bracket between the bolt and sensor, does anyone else have this on their motor?
