Defender 110 with Disco Auto Box
Hi,
I have just purchase a rebuilt Defender 110 with a 1997 Discovery 300TDI engine and ZF 6 speed autbox. Love it.
However a couple of ****les have come to light. Firstly there is no reversing lights. I can happily fit reversing lamps and operate from a switch in the dash hwoever I assume the autobox had a switch incorporated and would be ideal if I could wire to this. Can anyone advise if possible and if so how difficult.
Second issue which is related to some degree - there is no lights in the selector for the auto box. Makes selecting gears at night tricky. Can anyone advise whether this can be rectified and how to go about it?
Thanks
Mike

Hopefully the lights in the gear selector are still there and you just need to hook them up..
I'd be willing to bet the reverse light switch is in the gear selector as well..
Just get in the rave and look it up.. The RAVE is the service manuals for all the trucks.. You can find links in a lot of posts to them... Just search for rave and you'll find it...
I was looking for something else and stumbled across a sentence that said the switch was at the rear of the linkeage...
So I don't know if that's the transmission end or shifter end.. I'll be you'll find it..
