I CANT OPEN THE BACKDOOR OF MY 2001 DISCO. POWERLOCKS WONT HELP OR MANUAL HANDLE IS ALSO STUCK. DO I REMOVE THE BACKDOOR PANEL? IS AN ACTUATOR BACK THERE? MOM CANT GET THE GROCERIES! ALSO NEED AFFORDABLE LR GUY INTHE LOS ANGELES AREA TO WORK ON DISCO. 661-476-2555

 

Take the emblem out with a screw driver and spray the parts with penetrating oil....that should free up the mechanism.

The actual latch under the cover is metal, So yeah.. Road salt may have caused it to rust. You can use a screw driver to pry the latch back into normal position then pray it with WD-40 or something, Work the latch back and forth a few times and it should loosen it up.
