Default Disco II engine question

basically, i can't afford to put a 4.6 back in my 2003 disco. so my question is... can i put an engine out of a 99-02 in it? because they're much easier on the wallet

What sort of prices are you seeing on a 4.6 short block, what happened to your engine?
By the way, yes you can but it will greatly lower the value of the vehicle.

im not 100% sure that i will need an engine yet but it blew the head gasket on the driver's side in the back next to the firewall where the #7 cylinder is and i know that its the most common to lift. im getting ready to pull the head off and check everything out. hopefully i will just need the gasket kit and some machine work on the heads though

Do you have large amounts of coolant in the crank case, if not, you'll most likely not have dropped a sleeve and gaskets and a little head work should be all you'll need.
