Dissapointing head gasket job

oil was straight coolant .... something went horribly wrong. UGH

there's oil on the intake gasket. is that a clue? and ... no such thing as too much beer. well ... when not taking an engine apart

have you pulled the intake back off yet? if not you may want to borrow a preasure tester fron autozone/advanced and preasurize the system to see were the coolent is leaking from if it is on top of the intake gasket. also did you put the pushrods in before or after the intake gasket?

I've pulled it off. There was some oil on the gasket. I installed the push rods before I put the intake on. Is that bad?

what was the torque specs you used for the heads and what was the sequence you used?

I used new bolts and torqued in order according to RAVE. Was pretty **** about that. What I did notice when I took it all apart again is that the back right of the valley gasket was covered with coolant and that's where I saw the "milky" oil when I took the valley gasket off. I'm thinking I screwed up the seal on the valley gasket when I put the upper on. Would that make sense?
