Default engine swap

okay al you land rover gurus i have a 99 range rover with the 4.0 bosch engine
that needs to be replaced it dropped a sleeve so yes im sure the engine is bad
i have an engine out of a 01 disco2 i was told that to make the swap i would need only to swap out the timing cover alternator and ac stuff i figured no prob i am a decent mechanic i have done engine swaps before but now that i have the engine in hand i see that the wiring harness from the old one isnt goin to work it looks like the one off my engine could be swapped in but im not for sure and i know messing with the electronics when you are not sure is a recipe for disaster if any one could point me in the right direstion it would be much appreciated

Consider just replacing the short block and save yourself alot of grief.

Strip your new block down and just use the block. If you are looking at 2 different wire harnesses, you are looking at a can of worms.
