Phew....couldn't get my head around that one. So I'm okay there. I found that diagram and suggestion of the .02 label before. Thanks again.

The fan was the reverse fan and I'm going to lose my $40 machine shop investment and probably cost of fan. Won't be the first mistake I was helped to make on this rebuild. (Don't flame me on this one PT!)

You are paying the tuition at the College of Hard Knocks. As I reacall, good judgement comes from experience. And experience comes from bad judgement. So the world stays in balance, and somewhere in Borneo a guy's Rover just started overheating...

In Borneo????

Judging by these boards, there is a LR overheating in every city across the world...

I know sooo much more than I knew 6 months ago. I really like it!

The Rover gods have arranged once again to tilt the earth on the axis, letting Rover owners below the equator begin this annual rite, which can involve dancing and jumping around the steaming vehicle uttering words no human should hear, tossing gold and other money to bribe the dealership to keep us running another season, and feasting on peanut butter for a month to save for the new parts and repairs.

OK, we rerouted the heater hose...did we get it right?

Rad is at the shop getting rodded.

As soon as I get it back, I'll put the right green coolant mix w/ watter wetter...say a little prayer to those gods you speak of and get it on the road.

Should get my gauge any minute so I can talk numbers like the big boys!

Well gringo price is about $400. But I sent my PR friend with the rad only so it's gonna be $80. Seems in line with what has been written here.

That bypass has been on for years. Having said that, the truck hasn't run well in years. The stupid PO (me) should have fixed that a long time ago. It's been an around town truck so I didn't use it much.

If I get out of this OK with a properly running vehicle it will be a testament to these vehicles. I also really know how to prevent/put off head gasket and slipping cylinder problems for my D2.

As for paradise....sometimes I'm in it and sometimes it's hellish. For some reason, I am attracted to uncomfortable situations.

By the way, we cut the J hose from the PEP Boys like antichrist did. But we'll be keeping it there instead of fixing the heater..unless someone tells me otherwise.

Welll, dealer won't even look at my truck..I think they won't touch a pre-2000 vehicle. I hear they won't even look at imported vehicles as well.

I keep trying though. Yesterday, I went looking for the window channel that holds my front window and attached to the regulator. They offered me a replacement window....ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Range Rover on the floor: $107,000.
