yes I have the flywheel out no way they are the same the tab gap don't even line up and the ring gear teeth trashed my starter errrrrrrrrrrrr damn that ebay compatibility chart errrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Gems and Bosch engines should use the same starter. I wonder what happened.

I am not sure but I did hear the gear binding when I cranked the starter maybe that flywheel was bent not sure.i will investigate it more.I will turn the gems and bosch ring gears together and see what I get.

I checked and the ring gear teeth are the same but gems is 3mm thicker
so the teeth on the starter where only hitting the bosch ring gear 1/4" in.
I tested the starter it spins to slow.
