Default Finally got the heads off

Hey everyone, finally got the heads off and took them to the neighborhood machinist- got it back later that afternoon and it costed $130 total. One side was machined .02 and the other side was .015. They said they saw no real damage. So as I wait for a few things, I have since cleaned the inside of the cylinder walls clean and slick with WD40. I am slowly cleaning all the rocker arm components with Simple green and the outside of other things I can safely clean without worry of destroying. I also ordered a new breather axle differential tube because it looks like a pancake now and melted clean through from resting on the exhaust manifold. Luckily I found one on ebay for $30. I also had a hard time taking off the SAI manifolds from the block because of the copper pipes being seized so I had to break one from the copper bend and take them off individually- then I found that one side costs $200+ so I am lucky the other side is ok to use. All in all I am awaiting that new SAI manifold/Breather tube and everything will be going back on.

One thing that I would need help on is that when I was taking off the last screw on the head gasket, I accidentally leaned on the hose that connects from the brake servo to the air intake manifold aluminum chamber that has a red ring around it, sort of like the other end of the valve but it seems like it is really stuck. It does have arrows on it but I can't see of a way to remove the hose so I can try to fit another tube into it.

Also when I removed the header, I found 5 cylindrical bushings that are silver and have a circumference of .5 inch and is about .25 inch high...I will post a pic later of it but I was wondering where this could have come from and how many there must be if I lost the others or not. They look specially machined.

Regards, Willz

The red clip is a quick connect. Push the plastic tube into it while depressing the inner ring of the clip at the same time. While holing down the inner ring, pull the tube out.

Thanks Lordmorpheus for that instruction and drowssap for identifying the ring. Also thanks Drowssap for the ring identification- Would you know how many I am supposed to have?

Default Here is the pics of the melted breather hose and rings in question

I have total 5 rings, thinking I might be missing more.
Also Here is the pic of the melted breather hose I am replacing.
Also looking at cleaning my fuel injectors. I might get a kit from ebay that will supply all the replacement tubes/rings that would make it seal better. Thanks for everyones help so far- very very helpful. I will keep in touch when I get this going.

Cheers- Willz

yes, those are spacers for the valve cover gaskets, i don't run them so im not sure who many you should have.
as far as cleaning the injector someone did a real good right up and bought the ultrasonic bath, why dont you see if they will rebuild yours for a modest fee.
looks like your plate is full as it is.
