Default i cant turn the key

i just got a 1995 discovery, it has this issue that when you put the key in the ignition to start it, you cant turn the key. You have to push it in and wiggle it back and forth until it decides to let you go. it's so frustrating. anyone have anyidea what this could be?

Sure, your tumblers are dirty and may be warn out, quit playing with it. take it to a lock smith, have him remove the key, get your key code number from Rover and have a new one made.
If you are lucky and the tech can clean out your tumbler assembly you'll be OK, if not, go on line to Rover connection or DAP and buy a new tmbler assembly.

Until you can get it fixed (per Disco Mike's recommendation)...

... try gently wiggling the steering wheel side to side when you turn the key.

It happens, but it is not a real common problem. Usually shows up when your keys get old and warn and leave a lot of metal particals inside the tumblers.
