Land Rover Support In Niagara?
My interest in owning an LR3 is piquing again. Now, aside from the closest dealer to me is 45 minutes away, I was wondering if there are any garages that support / work on Land Rovers in the Niagara region in southern Ontario.
This way I can research and ascertain scenerios involving repairs and such.
Good news I hear, is that there is stronger aftermarket support now since I've signed up on this forum.
I'd only go to the dealer if I really had to.
I'd be looking at at 2008 or 2009 LR3 HSE (LUX).

Link below to shop manual set for the LR3. Attached is maintenance list as an example from that download. IMHO the intervals should be shorter. As example, the front differential holds two soda cans of fluid. The D1 holds 3 times as much. It is splash lubrication. Seems like too much time between replacements.

What about scan tools and readers? I hear the later LR3 you can reset lights from the dash.

The money you will save on DIY labor will allow you to buy a good set of tools, the Hawkeye or other such advanced device, when you see what a dealer charges. Then you can budget for dealer only repairs, which should be few. I live 60 miles from the dealer and have never bought anything there.

Good to know guys!
I'd prefer not to cross the border because it can equate to long times crossing.
I'd rather try to do what I can first or take it to a trusty import garage. Most seem to specialize in German cars.
I'll see what the Hawkeyes are about. Don't think its a bad thing to own.

From what I've been reading, every Land Rover should own one.
Hawkeye Diagnostic Tool for Land Rovers - D.A.P.
The price isn't bad and should pay for itself in no time.
