The loose or missing gas cap error message came on. Got a new gas cap. Now the message still comes up. Took car to shop and now its a catalytic converter issue. Anyone else have this issue? I have a 2009 Range Rover Sport HSE.

Is this a problem that start with the gas cap? Does it lead to other problems? I appreciate the advice and help.

 

Could be the fuel pump seal. You need to have the system smoke tested to find the leak. I would be suspicious of needing cats if "gas cap loose or missing" was the only message when this all started.
