Default LR3 no Command or Sport Shift

LR3 I bought four years ago and have never worried about it as it was no a big deal. Recently I had the floor console apart and I was trying to find the issue. With the Key out on the Floor console the "D" is lit red 24x7 and the sport mode or command shift does not work. If I look on the dash and slide the selector to the right the dash nor console change. I have no codes no errors my battery is new and I have no other issues besides this. any help would be great thanks in advance.

Resurrecting an old post. I'm having the exact same issue. No codes or messages. "D" stays lit 24x7 and Command shift or Sport mode does nothing. Everything else runs perfectly. I've looked at he gear shift selector linkage/bushing it all looks good, nothing is rusted. Wondering if it needs adjustment. Anybody else had this issue?

Adding to the knowledge on this forum, I had similar issues. No command shift, no sport mode, the D light on the console stayed lit in all gears (but worked on the dash). I also had a transmission fault shifting into 1st after every start. Replacing the shift assembly/lever fixed the issue and it's been running great for a month now. It also fixed a hard shift into 1st after coming to a stop. I'm guessing liquid spilled on the console and dripped down to the circuit board under the shifter handle. fix took about 30 min, the shift cable linkage pops off of with a pry from a Philips screwdriver in neutral (just like the tailgate/hood struts). Reverse to snap the cable back on the new assembly. Used assemblies are on eBay for about $150. Good luck!
