m and s codes
does anyone know if you have m and s lights on all the time in the morning and get your car supposedly , fixed do the lights need to be wiped from the computer or do they automatticaly go off . and if they need to be wiped can it be done at home and how or do i need to get them done at a shop . my lights are driving me nuts .
Here's the pages from the RAVE (free to download the whole thing) that cover tranny codes that set the M&S lights. You will notice that code P1562 is the only one that turns on just the M&S lights, and not the service engine light (called the official MIL term in the RAVE). MIL = Malfunction Indicator Light. You did not mention if the MIL was on.
That code is for battery volts under 9 volts at the tranny ECU. So you could have weak battery, poor main ground connection, dirty battery terminals, poor connections anywhere between battery, underhood fuse box, and the tranny ECU.

thanx . it doesnt come on with engine light , only m and s lights . and it only comes on with start up , hardly ever when car is driving . so I start up off , on etc and by the 3rd or 4th time < usually > it goes away .
If your check engine light does not come on during the initial start, the bulb is usually burned out. So you could be driving around with stored or active codes and not know it. Might want to have codes read, or use your scanner if in stock. Might want to check that battery and connections again with your voltmeter.
ill check volts , but the engine light comes on with bulb check and then off , like others , except good old m and s lights . ive had so many people look at it and so many things replaced like the battery , alternator , tranny ecu and more . They went away for a while back are back again
Sorry I mis-understood.
You might want to look very closely at the wiring then, the whole circuit from positive battery terminal to underhood fuse box connections to tranny ecu, ground for tranny ECU and ground for main battery.
Sometimes, I've made a long extension wire for my meter, and clamped it on the battery, and made my readings all along the way, looking for the extra voltage drop that I can clean up.
