Are you back home? (Hope so.) Have you checked the ignition system fuses this time?

No half way dropped off Blazer at sisters. Least not on side of road.

Yes on tested fuses.

She has run for the last year that I installed the fuel pressure gauge at 27 to 34. I put a replacement fuel pump in her about 2 years ago. Finishing up at salvage yard and will replace filter as soon as I return. Dont' think it's the issue but I have a new one so it can't hurt. been about 3k since a changed it

Okay, not sure what this means but, here are the results:

Spark good at coil when cranking..

With key in position right before cranking position:

V1 = 13 volts
V2 = 12 volts
V3 = 12 volts
V4 = 0 volts

V2 and V3 are 11 volts over spec.

Not sure what to make of the chart on the PDF about it...ideas?

Your readings are perfect.

V1 More than 12 volts. (13)
V2 1 volt maximum below volts at V1. (12)
V3 1 volt maximum below volts at V1. (12)
V4 0 volt - 0.1 volt. (0)

Move on to test 3.

Test 3:

"Connect voltmeter between battery positive (+ve)
terminal and H.T. coil negative (-ve) terminal.
Voltmeter should register 0 volts.
Switch ignition ’On’, voltmeter should still register 0"volts.

Mine is reading 12 volts with ignition on or off...

No.... but is that the issue??? I can have one here over night....I made the hugh mistake of not putting my parts container in the truck as I was worried about the weight. Stupid....

Think for a minute. Your meter is between battery positive and on the coil's negative lead and your getting 12V... that's a dead short to ground. It's supposed to be a dead circuit - (0V).

For future jaunts away from home, having a spare coil in the glovebox is a no option must have. I'm fairly sure you can grab a decent coil from any parts store. Anything from 20k to 35k Vdc should work.

I'm assuming the positive and negative on the coil energize to activate the coil...I just don't get why the coil is creating spark when cranking when there is a dead short....anyway having my parts box overnight-ed to me so I will have a coil by Monday morning latest. Thanks for your help scouts....

I would love to pick up a coil today...my parts box won't show up till end of day tomorrow. Is there a domestic crossover coil I can pickup and use? I realize you provided specs on a coil but, I think the local parts guys are not going to be able figure out which ones those are...maybe but I doubt it......
