Are you using an oil press gauge or going by the light? New filter? Forget the o ring on sump tube? leave a rag in sump? Backtrack your actions.. you might need to pull it off again and have a look. Does the light go on if you leave it unplugged? Sometimes in a panic we have a tendency to overlook the obvious. Keep at it you'll find the problem.

A really dumb question... did you ad oil? Don't hate me for that, I've done some really bonehead things in my past. Just asking.

We all have-just like the first time you leave the drain plug out!

We had one guy who drained the tranny (wrong drain bolt), added six quarts of oil to the truck, and drove around. And I think we had one who did it the other way round as well. And there was the guy that had the diffs serviced, and the drain bolt fell out half way across Montana...

IMHO this type of thing would happen less if SWMBO stayed out of the garage and held down the updates in task orders for the day....

I did temp sender on a Ferrari 328gtb (which is in the oil pan, mounted horizontally) well I removed it actually, forgot to put the new one in...8 liters of AGIP (not cheap) later. I was doing it on an alignment rack too.. took me forever to clean it up. Thank god I never ran it without looking.
