Default Oil plug stripped

Hey on my 2006 LR3 the oil plug (oil pan bolt) is completely stripped....and I mean completely. I venture to say it would have to be drilled out to repair, but I hate to go that route for fear of screwing up the oil pan itself. As a remedy, I tried an oil extractor which seemed to work fairly well...but it only was able to extract about 3-4 quarts before it starting sucking air as if it had extracted all the was to extract. I tried to push the tube in further and tried varying depths for the insertion and could get no more. Any thoughts on any of this would be appreciated. Thanks

Before you drill and use an easy-out, get a bolt extractor set that fits over the stripped head of the bolt. You can get them at any auto parts store, lowe's, etc. Looks like this > https://www.summitracing.com/parts/shc-952060

And works like this >
