Putting a 99 disco 2 engine in an 02
Ok guys so quick question.
Due to a cracked block I’ve decided to swap out engines.
They are selling me one from a 99 with secondary injection with only 90k
mine in a 2002 vin 5 with secondary injection.
just wondering if there will be any differences before I pull the trigger?

There are lots of threads on here about engine swaps. As far as I have read, the blocks should be the same so there should be no problems. The SAI/Non-SAI heads are different, but both your old and new engines have that so there should be no issues there either.

Make certain that they are including the 4.0's ECU *and* BCU because 4.0 is not 4.6. Your engine mapping from your 4.6 shouldn't match that 4.0 motor so you'll need the 4.0's ECU & BCU.
