Default A reverse inhibit feature?

2011 LR2... Does anyone know if this car has reverse inhibit feature? Today while driving around 30km/h my son threw my car into R from Drive. He has Down syndrome and can sometimes do inappropriate things. Anyways, the car didn't make any noise with the shift and I was able to pop it back immediately after. We made it home safely and with no issues with the car. Was just checking if anyone knew, I am assuming it does since there was no noise with the gear shift, just wanted to confirm.

My mechanic said you didn't hear anything because the transmission control disengaged mechanical interfacing. As auto transmissions are computer controlled, they are designed to prevent such catastrophes. Mainly to account for those people who can't seem to wait a split second for the vehicle to stop reversing before shifting to Drive.
