Default Service Engine Soon Please Help!

The Service Engine Soon light on my 03 Disco Se keeps turning on and off...it stays on for a while then goes away then a couple of days later comes back on again...I keep up with monthly maitenance, had my 60k tune up and currently running on 75+k and havent had any problems at all....Except for a persistant "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" anyone please help.... this is my first rover and dont know much yet...

It probably has something to do with a DTC..

Next time the light is on, take it to a parts store and get the codes read.

Then again, I see you're in CA.....when does that law go into effect that parts stores cannot provide free code reading?

Without your trouble code (P _ _ _ _ ), we're just guessing

Right on Wolfpack! thanks for the info... so i can just walk in and ask for a code reading? i havent heared of that new law yet but i guess i'll find out soon. i'll let you know.. thanks again

haha...well...I was being facetious..

DTC is diagnostic trouble code...a service engine soon light indicates that the computer is finding a fault, giving you a DTC. But yea you can just walk into Advance Auto, Autozone, etc and ask to get your codes read from your check engine light. Just remember to actually right the P _ _ _ _ down!

Go get the codes read, for free from your local auto parts store, then get back to us with the 4 digit number.

Default i got the codes!

Sorry Folks, first Land Rover and first time joining a forum...still figuring things out
but thanks a lot for all your help so far.... went to auto zone yesterday and they dont offer the free code reading anymore luckily i found out one of my friends has one. here are the codes:

P6455. EVAP Emissions System Leak
Detected Gross Leak

P1481. MTR Controlled Aux
