Sounds like you are in limp mode, do you have a check engine light on, if so what are the fault code numbers.

What can I say, both my heart and my head want a lifted rover with 35s and the whole bit...but my wallet doesn't. Anyway I have yet to pull out the xyz sensor and the tranny cpu but I'll report back asap. Thanks again guys.

It is throwing a 0600 code for a serial communication link which I believe confirms the idea that it may be either the CPU or the transmission ECU. I have to put my transmission back together before it makes sense to start pulling out the computer so I'll work on that first. Thanks for the help and let me know if that code tells me anything for sure.

Well im glad to say that after pulling apart the xyz switch and doing a transmission flush with new filter, the disco seems to be running just as well as before. Thanks so much for all the help guys!!

did you get water in the truck? did you check the battery connections? again, you are in limp. my 3 bets are the connections at the battery, the xyz switch or the transmission ecu under the driver seat.

hilltopppersx,

What you describe above is exactly what happened to me and now I am stuck in 3rd gear. The Green "M inside the Gear" light is on and my gear selector doesn;t show what gear I'm in. What plan of action do you suggest? I already checked the battery connections.
