Exclamation Tdi300 starts but engine keeps running even after ignition is turned off. what to do?
My landrover tdi300 engine keeps running even after ignition is turned off. what could be the problem? how can I resolve this?

How are you getting it to stop? Does it shut off if you disconnect the battery?

I put it on second gear and handbrake with a slow release of cluths until it goes off

it does not shut down if battery is disconnected

That's really weird. Sounds like it might be running hot so the fuel continues to compression-ignite. I suspect that it would eventually stop on its own when the fuel pressure drops low enough.

yes if I leave it edle for a long while it eventually goes off. how do I solve this problem?. thank you

try replacing the stop solenoid valve on the injection pump, when the solenoid gets old fuel will still bypass when its off.
