Default undercarriage shield identification

I've been working under my 2000 D2 and when I got under it this weekend, this was laying under it. Can anybody tell me where it came off so I can figure out how to put it or another one back on?

Also, any ideas why my rover has the emergency blinkers going when I plug the negative ground back on the battery and then turn the key on? I have the security unplugged. Only way to turn blinkers off is to unplug battery again. as they stay on even when key is pulled out.

Cat heat shield?

as for the flashers going, the BCU controls that via IDM relay pack that is part of the fuse panel. So could be a ground on line that commands BCU, or fried IDM. Or maybe alarm is trying to tell the world you tried to steal the truck.

Default shield

Savannah

quite likely the alarm, although I didn't know if it would do much sinc it is unplugged. However, I had put on and taken off (negative battery post several times before I saw someone with a suggestion about unplugging it. I've been working on this thing for several months. I hope its not BCU and I don't know what the IDM is but I will look it up. My interior dome lights don't work either by doors or manual and with replaced lights no fuse out so I was going to open up and look at wiring around BCU anyway.

Cats cover makes sense with where I found it so will look at that as soon as I get under car again and I can take a look at Manual or RAVE and compare.

Have a working key fob. The IDM and BCM have to sync up with each other, that can be forced by leaving truck with ignition in position 2 for say 10 minutes.

Default key fob

So what do you do if you don't have a key fob? I bought the truck with only 2 regular keys.

Maybe that is an issue since it has been left weeks with no battery in it?

ok, got it out of super lock mode, pretty sure it was anyway, had an m and an s lit up. I plugged the security back in and then did the key turned back three times in door or something like that. Took a few tries but it finally took or else it got tired of yelling at me and turned the blinkers off. By the way I did start by having the key in 1st position for 15 minutes prior to turning it to position 3. As soon as I turned it to position 3 the blinkers went off and I tried the key in the door switch turned back three times.
