Default Unusual Oxygen Sensor Problem - ECU related

OK, so I had codes on both sensors. Replaced the sensors and hooked up the scanner. Drivers side cycling just fine, PS not doing a damn thing. Checked the wiring continuity to the ECU, checks out fine. Swapped the sensors, still no cycling on the PS, swapped them back, DS still fine, PS stuck at .75 v. Disconnected sensor entirely, no change, jumpered sensor terminals, still no change (checked heater voltage, heater on).

Has anyone ever had a confirmed ECU problem where the ECU circuit which reads the sensor voltage would not work?

Certainly you could have a bad ECU, but you may want to meter the connector plug back to the ECU plug to be sure the wires are not shorted, grounded, or open. One way to do this is use a long piece of speaker wire (any wire) to extend one of the meter leads. You will need to consult the RAVE circuits diagrams for your truck, which is not shown in your post or signature.

Did that, everything checked out back to the ECU.

Sorry about the lack of sig, didn't know the protocol.

a few of us here have had wet ecu syndrome.......disconnect the battery and remove the ecu.....remove the covers and have a peek inside ....I had an intermittent stalling / no spark issues, and there was a hole rotted thru the fenderwell and the computer was corroded and damp inside because of it ......it's worth it to at least check it out.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will check it out although I kinda doubt that is the issue. Mine is a DII with the ECU in the passenger side footwell, and she has always been a pavement queen, with no rust anywhere.

I'm going to take it to the local Rover shop and see if he will let me swap out an ECU from one of his parts trucks, if the O2 comes back on then I can just buy it off of him.

Thanks again for the suggestion.

seen it on a few p38s. Basically the oxygen sensor shorts out the ecu. Most of the ones I saw was from a bad wire that had contacted metal.

Do you have sun roofs? I had a D2 with a wet ECU once. I'm not saying that's your problem.
