Yeah, temp fix. Get ready to replace your steering box AND pump. Need to use ATF ONLY in the system. No power steering fluid. Stop leak is probably mostly ps fluid with additives.

Hey a2tz, the box I bought off ebay for like $250 worked just great! I actually have the old box still in my garage, reading your success makes me want to try it out on that box. Was it the Lucas brand bottle?

No it wasn't Lucas....it was some 10$ brand sitting in the midst of the rest of them. Don't remember what brand anymore sorry.

And you should only use ATF in the power steering? Why is that? I need to read my manuals better apparently....

First, never just throw some additive in before you read up on it, second, you use only ATF cause that is what the D1 pumps were designed for and p/s fluid can screw things up real good.

I threw the stop leak in as a last ditch just because I was literally buying a new steering box the next day.
Is having ps fluid in there ruining anything aside from itself? I don't feel like I want to flush it right now on the chance that it would just continue to leak. I know it needs to be fixed at some point, but it needed new brakes worse so I went with those. Ol Rover has a lot of problems.
