Default 2013 lr2 brakes

Hello all! I have a ‘13 LR2 and every part I have bought for it was for a ‘14. I just tried to replace the rear brake pads and the vin # says it’s a ‘13 but had to use ‘14 pads. So I have the same issue with pushing the cyclinder back in and now I know I have to do something with the electric emergency brake, could I just leave it plugged in? Or is there another way without getting confused?

I had a thought after reading these instructions. What if a second person pushed the emergency brake switch down with the vehicle running while you pushed in on the piston on the caliper. Wouldn't that do the same thing as removing the plug and energizing with 12 v. I always shy away from removing a connector like this unless you have to. The clips sometimes break or they don't get reinstalled all the way and salt and water get in. Thanks in advance for any input.
