Being transplanted engine & expecting resurrection
Hi some of you who are interested in my LR2,
I posted my miserable car which stopped on the highway and was towed to my home.
Even though I tried to fix my car, I failed.
So I towed my LR2 to a kinda big local shop, but they faild to fix it.
I towed that to Land Rover in Boston downtown.
Not only did they fail but also they left my car being abused since my engine bay got a lot of rain
without careful treatment from Land Rover.
A local skillful young mechanic took a look at my car and found that smoke came from the burning of the starter inside, not from wires or velt.
He found that its engine totally was crapped. The oil pan showed that there were a lot of broken parts and the inside was clogged.
That caused the timing issue (The rpm was very unstable and no proper acceleration), he said. He is replacing the engine with a used one now.
In spite of these experiences, I decided to keep this car.
I update this for those who have helped me and had a curiosity about the smoke and problems.
Thank you & Merry Christmas!!
*p.s: The young mechanic runs Wicked Fitted Auto Parlor in Beverly, MA.
I think he is one of the best mechanics who can fix all kinds of problems from all brands.
Cheaper $300-400 than others yet skillful. If you need, google that shop. Highly recommended
