Need help/advice please on oil cooler replacement..
I ran into an older thread that did not turn up in any of my searches for "LR2 oil in coolant but no coolant in oil" but came up when searching for what coolant to use on my 2010 LR2 and convinced me G13 is the way to go. I'm in the process of acquiring what I need to replace the oil cooler. I'm fairly convinced and crossing fingers that it's what the problem is.
I purchased her with 264k and started driving her (daily what a joy) 7 months ago last summer and monitored oil consumption which didn't seem to be a problem. A couple of months ago the low coolant warning came on and while adding ~8 oz of water I think the coolant was green, today gathered that might not have been helpful to the cooler.
The previous owner put a ton of servicing into her: water pump kit, timing belt and new a/c compressor replaced fairly recently. Trans was replaced at 220k. Coolant low warning came on again just after Xmas and all I saw was oil in there and saw the oil level was down a quart or so. Coolant temp behavior always seemed normal and still does.
I opted for a factory oil filter Assy (coming on Tuesday)
and gather I have to flush the system several times to clear residue but have seen contradictions from different sources on the filter/cooler replacement process. I'd be forever grateful for any tips/resource links and/or know what I might look out for and have ready besides the filter assy/G13 coolant and oil? My research hasn't come up with anything clear so far.
Thanks in advance folks!
There is no better alternative. Open it with Adobe Acrobat and use the Ctl-F search function to find what you want. The alternative is to pay hundreds for access to the LR/Jaguar online system.
In the adobe reader, select the bookmark icon on the left toolbar. That will open up a detailed index of bookmarks so you can go directly to the relevant section.

After playing around with the reader, I found that I can drill down levels of table of contents and can probably bookmark relevant pages. Previously I was using the search function and there were so many results in many different section it was tremendous just to verify I was on the correct section and the reader's Liquid mode won't work >200 pages.
I almost bought a manual, still might from easymanuals.co.uk that was the one that looked most promising among all the others.
