Not Starting after Clearing Adaptations/Adaptions with GAP IID BT
Prior to clearing adaptions, I had used it many times to read faults and clear them, never had a problem until I learned that after cleaning the MAF sensor, it is good to clear adaptions. Thinking that this might be the problem, I cleared adaptions and then the car would not start.
I had done many hard resets, including trying a different battery before trying to clear adaptions.
The uncertainty about the cause of the no start made me buy a new MAF sensor in case I had damaged the old MAF while cleaning it.
I replaced the MAF and it still wouldnt start, then I knew it was the GAP IID unit that caused the no start.
On the bright side, after the mechanic reprogrammed the BCU and I got the car back, I have driven it over 150 miles over five days, and the lean state error codes havent returned.
So, assuming the lean state fail codes don't return in the next week or so, the "no start" situation may have ironically led me to fix my problem which was a bad MAF.
