I bought a used 2008 LR2 last year and it only came with one key. Silly me lost the one key four days ago. I have talked to the dealership and they informed me that I have to take the LR2 there to get the key programmed. The dealer is >150 miles away, and I am not looking forward to that towing bill. Someone suggested that in 2008 Land Rovers may have come with a valet key? Does anyone know if this is possible? If so, where would I get one? Thanks for your help!

 

Might consider renting a truck and hauler trailer. Insurance cover towing? Indy shop near you have computer that can handle programing? Or very high end locksmith?

 

Sorry but you have to order the key from land rover and get it programmed there. In your case you need to order two to prevent the same thing from happening. The door key that comes with it is the one that opens the door. That you need before getting it moved. I suggest you buy both keys and then open the door so its easier to move the vehicle.
