2006 LR3 SE Driver window not working
Evening all,
Just joined, tho I have read your free posts frequently.
Need to find "new member" manual and readup on how to do things on the forum.
.....but thought I'd take a stab at describing my problem. Hope I know how to find my way back here
Car has 170k on it and still going strong. For a few years, window movement up/down been a little sloppy but always worked. Seemed like window rattled around a little in its track.
Quit 2 weeks ago. Luckily in the up position. Can hear occasional click when you try to operate switch.
Finally got to it today. Removed door card. then removed door switches so I could plug back in and test.
So removed motor ,then operated the switch and motor works! But noticed both up and down switch caused motor to always run one way. ...Isn't it suppose to reverse direction.
If motor OK, then linkage is worn?. Any good videos out there?
Thaks and Regards,
Ben

Might be worth trying a used switch. I got one for around $50 on eBay. Iney didn’t have the same symptoms; it was mechanical broken.
If it was slow going up, that’s usually dry cables, runners out of alignment/worn or high resistance in the motor. Again, the mechanism should be relatively inexpensive used .
