Default Window help needed!

02 disco se7 164,000

MY front left window stopped working just last week, back over this last winter it started to act up by not rolling down at first and then it seemed after the truck warmed up it would work again. Now it doesn't do squat, no movement ,no motor sounds, nothing but a clicking sound coming from the glove box area when I press the switch up or down. I did do a regulator and motor swap on the passenger front last summer due to a broken regulator.
I still have the motor from that side and my question is: will the motor from the right work on the left?
any help on this manner will greatly appreciated

The motors are side specific. You need a new motor. You might as well replace the regulator while you are in there.

Sounds like the regulator could have a broken wheel, which repeatedly binded, straining the motor until it eventually killed it.
Lucky8 has good prices on regulator and motor together per door.
I got them both for the front passenger door last year, they work great, and I think around $70.

Yes, you cant interchange them. Better yet, before you remove it, just open the switch plate in the middle and switch the working side to the other side. If it works, then the wiring got spliced around the door area near the hinge covered with rubber.

I tried that before I made this post,I did do some research and found that the aftermarket motors part numbers say that the front left and right rear are the same fitment... Needless to say I'm going to see first hand if this is true.

Yes for the Motors only Left front is also used for the Right Rear and the Right Front is also used for the Left Rear.
