Default Transmission problem

We have had the same problem with our 2005 LR3 SE V8. It will get worse. We took to the dealer for diagnosis. It was a gear indicator sensor and linkage adjustment accomplished inside the transmission. No issue since. You should watch the dash for the gear indicator signal, to see if it is lit in D when it wont move. We could give our shifter a jolt rearward and the D would light and away you would go. I suggest the dealer for the fix.

Does this problem happen in the morning only?
Or anytime - even after a short shopping trip?

I bet just in the morning.

Default Whenever it feels like it.

There is no pattern to the intermitent connection. It was doing it in the am, in the pm, after warmed up, when cold. The most frustrating time was after driving 50 miles you came to a stop sign and then tried to pull out in traffic, there would be nothing but engine RPM's. No go. Very frustrating.

Thank again everyone for your feedback. My vehicle does the same as yours Mavrck. going to kill my family one day as it is hit and miss. usually 100% happens after a rain for sure. Dealer ant figure it out and Land Rover dealership wants $150 per hour, minimum 4 hours diagnostics and to keep the vehicle for 2 days. Land Rover certainly is a rip off at the dealers and rarely will they committ to any diagnostic verbally.

hey there. when the transmission fault occurs and it revs out; it is always after a rain. back and forth between park and drive and takes awhile to engage. once the fault occurs, it wont even switch to sport mode or anything until you restart the vehicle.
