Are there any brake light bulbs of high enough quality that one can pick up at the local auto parts store? Just done want to wait for a Land Rover part to be shipped.

I use cheap auto part store globes and never had an issue - i would never use genuine LR globes.

 

Same here....I think I've used Wagner in the past. Whatever they sell at the local O'Reilly's or Action Autoparts or whatever else. Just make sure that the light bulb base is such that you cannot install it with the wrong orientation. The brake lights have two filaments and they need to be vertical when installed.

 

Parts store Sylvania bulbs are fine
