Default Can Transmission be programmed for quicker shifts?

I would like to be able to get my Automatic Transmission to perform a little better. The upshifts are a bit on the slow side especially when driving in Sport Mode. I want quicker and firmer shifts.

Is there a way this can be achieved without opening up the trans and installing a shift kit?

Thx,
Lenny

Don't know if a shift kit is even available for the LR3's tranny.

There have been transmission computer reprogram/updates issued by LR to improve performance. Unless you have service records, the only way to know if yours is up to date is find someone with the right hardware and software to talk to the tranny computer, which in all likelihood is an LR dealer. Watch out though, just plugging your truck into their computer can set you back $100 or more (diagnosis fee).

no performance upgrades but if you are getting rolling stops and hesitation then yes its possible the ecu and trans are not the same level of software, plus issues with loss of fluid can micmic the problem as well. Plus sport mode aint that quick but checking these things mentioned above will improve overall shift capibility.

I heard sport mode plus "snow" special program is the way to burn it off the lights change ;-)

I am not having any of the issues mentioned above. I guess I will just be happy with the silky smooth transmission.
