Check Engine Light... NO CODES?
I keep getting a little unwanted visitor... he goes by the name of CEL....
The Check Engine Light keeps coming on randomly, but when i scan it, no codes pop up... I don't know what it is... I'm just using a regular OBDII Scanner... im wondering if the dealer has special diagnostics equipment? Maybe the CEL is throwing up a code above and beyond the normal OBDII only the dealer can read? I hate check engine lights.... I want to fix the problem!! lol... anyone have any insight on this? Thanks!
Also, my suspension fault light keeps coming on... I just replaced the compressor after it failed and wouldnt raise. I was low-riding it for a while till the compressor came in... but the fault is still around!!! Sensor maybe?? I might have some mud stuck in there...

you didnt say if its a V6 OR v8. makes a huge difference. V6 is actually a Ford mustang engine with LR Programming. You can use some of same parts if neccessary from a ford dealership but only a few.
V8 is all LR/jag. Depending on the year alot of oxygen sensor codes were being fixed via a reprogram. But LR doesnt want just any repgm or to throw oxygen sensors on the vehicle. They are strict because techs were throwing parts at them without knowing the real cause.
air suspension has to be diagnosed before you waste time throwing parts at it. trust me, the dealer has all the equipment. Our IDS cost us 20k plus weekly updates from LR. oh and we have two of them for six guys. We have it all cause we are the court of last resort. We as techs have to read constantly on new bulletins, info and new systems being introduced. Its apart of the job. You dont see info here on the LR3 cause their aint much out there and even still without IDS you cant diagnose anything. Even a cheap version that can clear codes for every module costs around a grand or more.
For the amount of technology and tools we have to invest in, 110 an hour is cheap for dealerships regardless of manufacturer.
