Default A few things I want to change

So, I am moving from a 2007 SE V8 to a 2006 SE V8 and have a few issues.

1. I hate the rear view mirror (the shape not the operation) -----Can I replace it with one from a 2007 or newer? (the heater only clears the middle third of the wind

2. I want the auto passenger window up and down feature. (I re-flashed the BCU and ICP to the 07+ with the iiDTool but no luck). I got the 3 turn flash and the clock in the dash, but the window does not auto up or down. I did notice that my 2007 had the 2 position window switches on both front doors. -----I wonder if I replace the switches on the drivers and passengers door from a 2007+ would that allow this feature to work?

Any ideas about fixing these issues?

Jeff

Don't know the answer but would love the passenger auto up.

I have to go look at my trucks now, I had no idea the rear view was different

Pics of mirrors anyone?

The mirrors are likely interchangeable. I actually put a Rover mirror in my 1992 BMW 750iL. I forget the company name, but they seem to make all the mirrors for the euro markets. So the pinouts across vehicles are nearly identical. What do you mean by the heater though?

Default I really should hire a proof reader

The heater I mentioned is the windshield heater (I don't know how that got left out)

Anyway, I will need to remove the mirror when the guy changes the windshield sometime in the future and that may be a good time to make the switch to a newer style mirror if it compatible.

While I an on the subject of mirrors, it pains me to see that the Land Rovers still uses the old style encoding for garage doors. I put in a new Lift Master side mount garage door opener during the rebuild after the flood last year and had to buy a bridge to allow the "older technology" to work with the new rolling code of the new opener. I can see this being a problem on the 2006 or 2007, but my wife's 2014 LR4 needs the bridge as well. and I think the "Q" technology for Lift Master has been around since before that. So, JLR yet again is living in the past on this segment of vehicle technology.

Still trying to figure out the window thing though.

2006 Mirror

2007 Mirror
