Gas cap loose or missing
Im getting an information alert "gas cap loose or missing" I've replaced the gas cap with a new factory one and still get the alert. Am I missing something? Thoughts?
Thank you

Genuine factory from a proper LR parts dealer or one of the numerous fakes found on eBay and Amazon? Also it can take a bit for the message to clear, it will not be instant with the new cap. Why? Not sure but I think like many codes it requires a certain number of startups, miles driven, etc. to automatically clear. Or you may have an issue with the evaporations system (evap), which generally generates a code and usually a check engine light.
Standard OBDII protocols are:
1 Drive cycles for a pending code
2 consecutive drive cycles for a CEL
3 consecutive Drive cycles with no failed test to extinguish a CEL
40 consecutive drive cycles with no failed test to delete a stored code
Long story short, it can take a while to “clear” a code if you aren’t doing it with a code reader and are just waiting for the computer to do it.
