As I said in my original post, LR has tried several times (at my expense) to repair the problem to no avail. I offroad with the truck pretty frequently in the spring and summer months. I also frequent the beach. That being said, it turns out that the issue was corroded ground wiring between the block and the chassis and the distribution block and the chassis. After cleaning the terminals and connection points and replacing the ground cables with insulated wires, I'm back in business. The resistance readings on the ground system were off the charts. The starter was just not able to overcome it and thusly wouldn't start.

im having the EXACT SAME problem what do I do
If you have a multi meter, take off the passenger front wheel and probably the plastic liner (it's been a while so I can't recall if you have to remove the fender liner or not). But look for a short grounding strap between the engine block and frame rail. It's probably 6-8" long. Check the resistance between the block and chassis connection. If it's high or the cable looks crappy just go by the auto parts store and get a grounding cable about the same length and bolt it in. I actually left my old one in place and put the new one in parallel with it. Also make sure to check the battery to chassis ground using the same technique.

Default Electrical problem, no power, fixes itself after 3-5 minutes.

@spry studios Did you figure out how to fix your electrical problem? Was it the ignition switch?

I realize this post is ancient, but you've exactly described the problem that began for me 2 weeks ago. ALL power is lost, but after a few minutes it starts as if nothing was ever wrong. Oddly, the radio drops the station I was listening to (changed from AM to FM), but doesn't loose the presets. I brought my car to a mechanic who said my battery tested 100% good. I tested both key fobs and neither would start the car when the problem occurred, but both worked after it resolved itself...ie., not the keys.

No problem if the car sits outside overnight, but I've had this happen to me after driving for 30 minutes to an hour, then letting it sit for 1 to 2 hours. The problem may be associated with rain which we don't get very often here in New Mexico, but have had a bit recently...

The first time it just seemed to fix itself after a few minutes. The second time I attached a portable power pack to the battery thinking it was dead...interestingly, after the cables were attached the power pack is supposed to read "ready to start ignition", but it only showed the cables were connected. It started. The third time it happened I didn't have the power pack and again the power came on to the dash and the car started after 5 minutes of random opening of the hood, closing the doors and turning the ignition off and on trying to get it to work.

FYI...about 2 years ago I had problems described by the original poster and solved it by replacing the battery and all battery cables. Ultimately the fix included replacing the e-brake switch which may have gone bad due to a poor ground.

Last year I had a problem with water leaking onto both floorboards because the sunroof drain tube rubber rotted where it exits the quarter panel. I fixed the easy driver side rubber, but waited a few months to fix the side where the computer sits behind the glove box. The computer didn't show any evidence of water and the connections all appeared to be in good condition.
