so i put this on the back burner for a while, but now its time to get back to it.. I unhooked the capacitor, with no success . So that ( I believe) leaves me with the prndl or TCM. Everything I found says that both these are part of the mechatronics unit. Does anyone know if this is true, and if it is, does anyone have any suggestions on getting, refurbishing the mechatronics unit, or just replace the trans with a used one. All the mechatronics im finding, which is very few, are pretty damn expensive.. Trying to find the best route

The gear selector switch is integrated into the TCM, and the TCM is the “mechatronix” unit. It’s not sold by itself, but as an assembly including the valve body. Very expensive indeed, around $2000-2500 with a core charge. There are companies that will rebuild your old one.
Softelectronic in Europe (I think Czech Republic or Poland) is one.
I think your problem is that the shift linkage is improperly calibrated. If your console shifter is out of sync with the position switch in the TCM, you get a no-start. Running live data on my TCM I can confirm that with key in POS II, the TCM reports the vehicle in 3rd gear —so I don’t think there is anything wrong with your TCM.
Here’s the procedure for setting the shift linkage, attached.
And here’s a good thread on the mayhem caused by a selector that’s not calibrated:
