Hi all - I went out to replace my hood latch sensor today (a 30 second job......) to stop random car alarms. Followed the AB video, pulled the passenger side latch, unplugged, and got oddly stumped. Here's the pax latch:
No clips to remove a sensor. I looked at the driver side and it has the openings in the latch that I was looking for, but no sensor that I could see (I couldn't feel a plug beneath the wiper reservoir and did not remove the drivers side latch like I did the pax side).
Did the PO swap these two latches or could there be an aftermarket assy on the pax side? Is it always the pax side on US spec that has the sensor? Do I need to get a full latch replacement now, rather than just the sensor?
You know the best part? Now I'm getting "HOOD OPEN" every few seconds on my dash display. This went very well...
I’m experiencing the “Bonnet open” warning all the time. I have a different question about this. My suspension does not engage although there is a bing sound when I try to use the control level to raise the LR3. Would the bonnet open warning stop the suspension from engaging?
Yes, that will stop suspension movement as I recall.

Well I have replaced the entire latch (from AB) - and still have the constant hood open warning.
Is there a trick like raising the latch a little to get better contact?
Frustrating to go from a minor problem (random car alarms) that mostly annoyed neighbors and parking lot patrons to a more annoying (to me) HOOD OPEN alert.
