Im not contesting that. I find the function useless as well. Just saying that it can be programmed.

I have not tested this theory but,I am guessing that its function is to unlock the rear hatch only.

That way some rapist/car jacker in the mall parking lot cant jump in the car while you are loading the rear hatch with sh$t.

I believe that is the only purpose of this function and doubt that it was actually designed to open the rear hatch, just unlock.

I find the latch piping open, if it actually worked, a lot more useful than have the button programmed to raise and lower the suspension. I myself can not imagine any scenario where I would want that function. I mean if the hazards must be on, then you pretty much will be inside the vehicle anyway.

Anyway... so it seems that the latch pop function does not work for anyone properly. And never did even on a new LR3. So buying new ring pushes and strike pads will do me no good. I am certain I can make it work with some other modifications. I guess for now, it will just be an annoying broken "feature" - just like the darn miter tilting when backing up and how they never seem to return to the starting position.

@ArmyRover your '06 does what? If it opens the rear hatch (not just unlocks it) I'd like to see a video of that! Not because I don't believe you but just to make sure we are on the same page in our description of operation.

I assume you mean mirrors? You can turn off the tilting

Lemme interpret Dakota for you: tilting GOOD, not-returning to default position consistently BAD.
