I should have clarified - I was posting the listing to help your hunt, yes they are not available.
Sounds like there was enough info thru your phone call to get the real part number.
Was there no part number stamped on your cracked tube to reference?

Can not find it..took it in today..mechanic is going to repair it : (
Darn how can they discontinue a part for a car last made in 2009 ?
Very green minded of them.
How are those beautiful 68-69 Camaro's kept on the road if parts are not available ?
Cheers
repair isn't always a bad thing - it could be fine
But keep looking for a breaker with your part, in case the repair doesn't work
. . . and Land Rover should be flattered you are comparing the LR3 to a 68 Camaro !

Made in USA ?
On one Land Rover Dealers site it says Out of Stockand then Made in USA.
Since this is a Ford Engine the actual manufacturer possiblly has some available?
Anyone know who actually made these Tubes ?
I'd really like to find one.

I checked almost 10 of my preferred parts suppliers, either out of stock or not listed. I think your best bet is to call a junkyard and have them pull it for you. Not every place will do this, but some will. This is a part I wouldn’t hesitate to source from a yard. Replace the o-ring seal and you’ll be golden.
the v6 was from ford
but yes ford owned LR/jaguar at the time
This reply is about the Ford Cologne V6 but maybe the Jag/Ford V8 dipstick tube is the same diameter? My Land Rover LR3 4.0L V6 is actually a Ford Cologne 4.0L V6 SOHC but the oil dipstick tube is off the LR block, same size but different (slightly or so it seemed at the time) length, maybe you could check that out and lengthen/cut/adjust accordingly if it fits? Those V6 ones must be pretty inexpensive and there are lots of them in the wrecking yards, just a suggestion...
