Default New Battery now mirrors auto move while in reverse

Hmm I've changed the battery like 2 other times and it was easy. This one seemed ez, having trouble getting that angled plate, cant find the right side thread hole for the long bolt on the right side. its like the batter got a little wider or im just tired. I'' get it mounted right but..

I test started it to make sure it was ok and yes it started right up. But when I put it in reverse I noticed both side mirrors where auto moving and angling down. When I put it in drive they go back to where they were. Is that some feature I unlocked by accident?

And my parking sensors still don't work right was hoping it might be the battery no such luck. Maybe they got we were fine up to a week ago.

I did spray some contact cleaner on the terminals and also on a few wire harness connectors behind the battery. Not sure if that had anything do with it. Im letting it sit a bit in case some of that cleaner has not evaporated fully.

Anyone know about the weird mirror issue?

You can disable it from the options menu if I remember correctly.

It is per key, you can set the mirror as you wish when gear is in reverse and then store it as part of the seat position settings. See the manual.

Thanks!, The mirrors seem to have self healed, very strange but I will take it I went for a 8 mile drive and tested it a parking lot a few times and now the mirrors stay put and not move at all like before.

After pulling the battery the computer must have been at a default setting and maybe found a saved setting for the mirrors to be off. Not sure how to explain it but the issue is gone.

I still have a parking sensor out hoping that would self heal too. Don't feel like pulling a bumper so might go dealer depending on cost.

I wouldn't rely on self-healing!

Were you using the same key FOB in both cases? This is for sure a setting that can be turned on/off with the turn signal stalk button.

I'll take all the good luck I can get Im way over due On the FOB useing the same one, I had switched FOBs around 6 months ago. It had something to do with pulling the battery, that is all I did was put in a new one. The back hatch opens now too. I suspect low voltage LR gremlins at work.

Or just have the mirror "dial" set to left or right and I dont think they auto-dip, only when the dial is at center position. Could be wrong, but I think that is how they work.

Oh the mirrors definitely were auto tilting down on own in reverse. I guess its a feature. I never mess with the mirrors once I set them a few years ago, they never move and are where I like them. They somehow found my old settings, I've not touched on mirror dial, centered anything. Had to have been a stored setting or mode. Its back to normal now on its own.
